From time to time, we like to share information about suppliers that we think you might find either useful or of interest. This month we’d like to introduce you to Ableworld!
Ableworld is a company we have worked with for many years. Unless there is a store near you, you might not have heard of them, but they are, in fact, the largest mobility retailer in the country. Like Arelle, they are very focussed on ensuring customers get the right product for their needs.
Mobility aid specialist
Also like ourselves, Ableworld is 21 years young! It was founded in 2000 after Managing Director Mike Williams experienced difficulty when he was shopping for mobility aids for an elderly relative. At that time, the mobility trade was unfortunately full of target driven sales people who would pressure sell to the elderly and vulnerable, and Mike was determined to make a change by providing quality products at value for money prices, and with staff that would help rather than just sell items.
From that very first store in Nantwich, Ableworld now has 38 stores all over the country – from Scotland to the South Coast of England and from East Anglia to Wales – have a look here to see if there is a store near you.
Fully accessible stores
Their stores are fully accessible for mobility equipment users and have car parking facilities. Staff are fully trained staff (with a DBS check for added peace of mind if you request a home demonstration) and you can even arrange to hire items such as mobility scooters and wheelchairs for longer periods of time before committing to a purchase.
Ableworld also sells a range of related items such as stairlifts, wheelchairs, beds and mattresses, riser recliner chairs and bath lifts. And if you need anything bespoke or made to measure, they can help with that.
Trusted trader
Finally, Ableworld is a Which? Trusted Trader, having passed rigorous assessments that recognises reputable traders, it has Community Equipment Retailer Accreditation to ensure they are a retailer which supports the lives of people with disabilities, and is also accredited by The National Association of Equipment Providers. This certainly gives you confidence that this is a company you can trust. You can watch this video to find out a bit more about them:
